Third Floor Hallway, Sunday Morning

There were auditions today. Auditions to sing and dance and do fun things in front of everyone!

So naturally, Miley had to practice. It was important to practice! Daddy did it all the time for his concerts, and Aunt Dolly did it for hers, and Mom and Jackson... well, they didn't like singing. But Jackson practiced for his volleyball team!

But Miley didn't want to be a volleyball player; she wanted to be a rock star. So she ran around the hallways with a glittery pink microphone that said HM on it and sang and danced to a song she was making up on the spot. That way she'd be ready for her audition and she could meet the other kids who might be wandering around! Yay!

Dave wandered out into the hallway in search of cocoa, still clutching his mug from yesterday. No, he wasn't willing to let it go. But when he heard the singing, he had to stop and shout a request. "Sing I Want You Back!" Yes, he was going all the way back to the Jackson 5. Look, that's why was popular when he was a kid!

"I don't know that one," Miley said, slightly disappointedly, tilting her head. Generously, she held out the sparkly microphone and offered, "Do you wanna sing?"

"No, I need cocoa," Dave said, his shyness starting to act up when a girl actually spoke to him.

"I know how to make cocoa!" Miley announced proudly. "It's my daddy's loco hot cocoa. It has real cinnamons in it."

"Oooh. I'll sing if you make some," Dave negotiated. COCOA TRUMPED NERVOUSNESS.

"Okay!"

This would lead to some terrible hand-burning.

"Come on in my room," she encouraged him, heading down the hall back toward 311. "I gots chocolate milk in the fridge and probably some cinnamons and you can stand on the bed and sing if you want!"

"Why would I stand on the bed?" Dave asked. He didn't really get the concept of stages, no.

"So even your fans who are short can see you, silly!"

Meanwhile Miley was pouring chocolate milk into a glass. It was going to overflow. A lot.

"But there's nobody else here," Dave pointed out.

"Yeah, but pretend," she explained. "Duh."

"Oh!" Dave said. He started to climb onto the bed. "Any requests?"

"Ummm... whatever you said before!"

"I don't know the words," Dave shrugged. "But I do know this other song...."

Too bad Miley was a CRAZY PERSON, Dave.

She raced forward and leapt onto the bed, then proposed brightly in between bounces, "We should do a duet!"

She potentially just saved herself from A Horse With No Name. Crazy like a fox.

"We should?" Dave asked.

Bouncing! Bouncing!

"Do you know meta for Aladdin?"

"What's a meta for Aladdin?" Dave asked. That would be a no.

"It's a movie!" Miley said helpfully. "They sing!"

Good thing Dave had her here to share this kind of helpful information, right?

"Nope. Never heard of it," Dave said.

"That's sad," Miley said. "It's good." Bounce! "Really good!" Bounce! "THIS good!" Then she leapt off her bed and onto Surreal's, where she burst into song.

As he didn't know the lyrics, Dave just watched. He also took a seat on the bed and clapped. It seemed like a pretty good song.

But his focus shifted to his mug, which still didn't have cocoa in it.

But she did have a glass of chocolate milk filled with cinnamon! Did that help at all?

"Thanks!" Miley gushed, hopping off the bed and giving a little curtsey. "It's the best movie ever!"

Not until it was warm. He was promised HOT cocoa with cinnamon.

"It probably works a little better when there are two people, though," Dave mentioned. "So, about the hot cocoa..."

"Here!" she said, thrusting out the glass of milk to him. And, yep, that'd be chocolate milk aaall over her pretty rug. Oops. "Just blow on it to make it cool off!"

In addition to being weird, that was also just flat-out wrong, Miley.

"But... it's not even warm," Dave said, feeling the glass.
