The Beach | Wednesday Morning

So there was some kind of... London situation going on outside. Maybe she would go check that out another day, but today, with no classes to attend and no reason to stay in her dorm, Miley grabbed a map and made a beeline for the beach. It was where she was most comfortable, and even if it wasn't perfect LA weather, she put on a T-shirt and shorts, left her phone in her room, and headed out there anyway.

Between the incessant messages from Vida ("And you're sure your roommate can't get into your closet?"), the relentless emails from Jackson (picture after picture of her room back home, ugh), and the increasingly excited texts from Lilly ("OMG!!! New cute boy at the Starbucks near my apt!!"), she wanted to be outside where she knew she could think. Water had always had a way of doing that for her. Now, if only this place had a Rico's or a pier or something.

Seifer just grinned and shook his head, shaking the water from his hair, hopefully not hitting Miley.

"Nah, it's not that bad. I've been swimming in colder." He held out his hand. "I'm Seifer," he said, the name sounding like cypher.

"Miley," she offered, shaking his hand despite feeling faintly awkward about the formal gesture. "Nice to meet you, Seifer. Where are you from that's so cold?"

Though her talks with Jack and Caroline had suggested that she miiight not necessarily be familiar with whatever his answer would be.

Well, at least she hadn't asked 'when'. He would have had fun trying to explain some things then.

"A place called Centra. Small, and it got pretty cold in the winters. You?"

"Tennessee, originally," she said, letting a little of her southern twang come through in her voice to prove this point. "Recently, LA, so I'm used to the warmth, pretty much."
